A life spent listening to families
His work began at grassroots level, long before “coaching” was a familiar word in Kerala. Through the Kerala Police Women Cell in Palakkad, he sat with thousands of couples and families at some of the hardest moments of their lives, helping them find a way forward without blame. The Hon’ble High Court of Kerala and the Kerala State Legal Services Authority (KELSA) called on him as a nominated member at Adalaths for family matters.
One idea from that time won the Chief Minister’s Innovation Award (presented by Shri Oommen Chandy). The award also carried ₹5,00,000 for the Police Women Cell where the project ran.
Taking guidance to schools and communities
He believed support should reach people before a crisis. Over four decades he has given more than 17,000 awareness sessions in schools, colleges and residential associations across Kerala, on adolescence, parenting, exam stress and substance-abuse awareness.
He has served as an approved resource person for the General Education Department (Palakkad, Mannarkad and Ottapalam), Master Trainer for the Kerala Excise Department, and resource person for the Kerala State AIDS Control Society, Nehru Yuva Kendra and SIMAT. He has also been an online adolescent-education resource person in a UNFPA project run through Nehru Yuva Kendra, and an approved trainer for the National Cadet Corps.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, he was certified under Project SAMVEDNA (an NCPCR initiative, trained by NIMHANS) to give psychological first aid and emotional support to children. He received a Certificate of Appreciation from the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights for this work.

Service beyond the session room
He led the Manappully Kavu Residential Association in Palakkad to become a fully eye-donating community, likely one of the first in India. He has facilitated 3,250 eye donations and 375 body-donation pledges to Thrissur Medical College, and has pledged his own eyes and organs. He has also served as Vice Chairman of the Kidney Foundation of India and worked with the Kerala Government’s Mrithasanjeevani organ-donation programme.
